Paintless Dent Repair

Perfect for those instances when damage is minor enough not to require conventional repair and repainting.

What is Paintless Dent Repair?

Paintless Dent Repair (PDR), also called Paintless Dent Removal, is a method of removing minor dents and dings without removing any paint from the vehicle. This is done by massaging the dent out from the back of the panel, or sometimes from the front using specialized tools. This method is the closest you can get to the dent never happening in the first place.

What are the benefits?

The biggest benefit is cost savings. No grinding, filling, or painting is needed, because your original factory paint is not disturbed. Time savings is another advantage. Most dents can often be fixed in less than a couple of hours.

The Repair Process

  • 1

    Assess the Damage

This step seems obvious but it's very important. Where are the dent(s)? How big are they? How do we access them? Has the paint been damaged in any way?

  • 2

    Gain Entry to the Dent

Now that we know where the dents are and have developed a plan for how to get to them, it's time to actually start the work. Since the dent removal process is usually handled from the back side of the dent, the process will usually involve removing some or all of the following: lights/lenses, body panels, and interior panels.

  • 3

    Take a Closer Look

Now that we can see both sides of the dent, with the help of a light that helps highlight high and low spots, the technician can see what tools need to be used, and where to place them.

  • 4

    Work the Dent Out

Using special tools and incredible skill, the dent is slowly and methodically worked out. In most cases, the process takes less than two hours and the result is a body panel that looks as if the dent were never there!
